Adriano Maggi was born in Milan in 1945, where he still lives and paints. He attended the Art of School (Liceo Artistico) Beato Angelico, and got a degree in Architecture at the Politecnico of Milan. He had some personal exhibitions in many places where he showed a particular attitude for portraits, wich he paints both in oil and in pastel. His painting follows impressionist criteria, it is based on a rigorous drawing and on bright cromaticism balanced on level tone. He is at his best when he draws portraits, where he can express his sensitivity. We can find aesthetic elaboration and emotional participation also in his landscapes and still life. He taught how to paint pastel portraits and nudes.
